Cedar Point Changes for 2007

It's getting close to opening day and things are moving at Cedar Point. Over on the CP Blog Tony and Tyler announced some of the changes other than Maverick. Here is a quick recap.
1) New Three Point Challenge. Located near the new Maverick Coaster. This one isn't a shocker to me. The first one was clearly a big hit a good money maker for CP last season.
2) The Frontier Inn becomes a Chick-fil-A. I think everyone would agree a change was long over due. Pulling in a big name place is a terrific idea. I would expect this area to see a lot of traffic and a huge turn out for good chicken.
3) The new Panda Express located at the old Trails End resturant. I'm not a huge Asian food person but I know there is an audience for this. Disney made the same transition of one of their resturants in the Magic Kingdom last year. It hasn't been a huge success but does meet the demands of some customers. It seem right that Cedar Point would be following that trend to provide some alternative menus for folks that are sick of burgers and hot dogs.
4) Now for the biggest change (in my opinion). Smoking will allowed only in posted areas at Cedar Point. (The smoking audience may now throw their fit). I am not a smoker and think its a great idea. I've had people blow smoke in my face, had to run around people so their smoke doesn't blow in my face. It stinks. Other parks have had the same policy in place and I haven't seen any major protests or screaming going on. I think this is in line with changes made to Ohio law in reflecting the majority is opposed to open smoking. Now I expect many Cedar Point fans will be screaming and kicking on this one. Which I understand and can appreciate.
That's it for a Tony and Tyler recap.
As for other Cedar Point News. Living close to CP, every now and then I get a chance to catch things as they zoom by.
Driving on RT-250 they other day I saw what appeared to be a new or refurbished fiberglass shell to a section of the Magnum train go by on a trailer. It was nice and shiny white, with no decals yet.
