Cedar Point Opening Day Review

Cedar Point opening day 2007 is in the history books. The crowd seemed heavier than usual due to all the bands attending. So here is our review:

Crowds: Heavy (Lines for the Corkscrew and Iron Dragon)

Rides: B+ Seems a few rides had some issues. Most looked in top shape. The Cedar Creek Mine Ride was down and so was the Matterhorn. Sunday everything was up and running. The Top Thrill Dragster seemed to have issues. It appeared that the trains were only putting six people on at a time.

Games: A- Games seemed to be in top notch form. The Bowler Roller game has been replaced with a new game where you throw poker chips to try to win a slot machine. Ring toss replaces Bushel of Baskets at the front of the park. Bushel of Baskets got moved to another spot. The new three point challenge in the back of the park looks great.

Food: C This one is pretty hard to judge. Cedar Point has made a HUGE jump forward in the food they are providing this year. More choices are available than ever before. I ate at Chick-fil-A (first one to use the credit card machine). Great service and awesome food. So with that said why does Cedar Point get a C for food? The main answer to that is price. Pop this year is at $3.00 along with price increases just about everywhere. So with all the great choices in food its a shame regular pointers will probably go off point or to the cooler in the parking lot.

Park Condition: B Lots of improvements in the Maverick area. Other areas were pretty much the same as last season.

Staff: A Now I have a good comment on the Cedar Point staff this year. One thing I noticed was the staff's aggressive implementation of the no smoking policy. I think that was great. Nothing bothers me more than a policy thats not enforced. Everyone also seemed very friendly and helpful. I'll be posting some opening day photo's in the gallery soon.
