Another Good Cedar Point Weekend 6/16

Saturdays are going full blast this year at Cedar Point. CP had another full parking lot and lines seemed as long as ever. Warm weather didn’t seem to deter anyone from the park. It was good to see the Joe Cool entrance again with Cedar Point staff directing the way. The reconfigured fences were back holding people for the opening. We did not stay around to see the running of the bulls.

Sunday was a really small crowd for Fathers day. There is a general reputation that it’s ‘Gay Day’ and that offends some people. Yes, there were several people there that were obviously gay, but I would say no more than any other group any other day. There were a couple groups that wanted to stand out, but you see just as many folks doing that on a normal day. If you stay away on Father’s day you’re missing out on a lot for no good reason. We were able to get on Millennium Force with no wait. They only ride that had a huge ride was the Maverick.

If you haven’t rode the Maverick you’re missing out. For a low to the ground coaster is massively deceiving. I was expecting a tame ride; that was a mistake. In my opinion the Maverick is every bit as wild as the Raptor and is defiantly one of my top coasters.

One point of Cedar Point interest this week is the new Live Entertainment signs located around the park. I saw two signs. One located at the base of the Sky Ride near the Matterhorn. The second sign is located near bridge in Frontier Town. There may be more but I just saw those two. They are permanent signs that are in a metal case. I will get some pictures up soon. Those are 100% better than some of the other live entertainment ad’s I’ve seen around the park. Looks like Cedar Point is really trying to drive people to the shows this year. If you don’t get to see one you’re missing out. Cedar Point has a ton more to offer then just rides and games.
