It's time for fireworks!! Cedar Point's annual fireworks display never ceases to dazzle the park visitors. It's a great event if you can make it. The weather for tomorrow looks pretty good. Here are some key facts to know about the fireworks display.
1. The front right parking lot is blocked off for safety reasons. The launch site is close to the front right area of the lot. Cedar Point blocks off that area to keep anyone from getting to close. This area is normally used for employee parking. An one thinking they are going to drive around to snag a parking spot in that area...forget it.
2. The fireworks are best seen from Wicked Twister area near the water. The beach is an awesome spot. Make sure to get your hand stamped when you leave the park to go to the beach. If you don't its a long way back around to your car. To get to the beach exit the Resort Exit near Ocean Motion. You can also see really good from the Main Midway. So if you can't get to the front of the crowd in Kiddy Kingdom, don't worry any where near the front of Cedar Point gives you a good view.
3. Weather. The weather looks good for tomorrow but keep a close watch to the report. If your sole reason for going to Cedar Point on the fourth is for the fireworks then watch the weather. High winds or rain is enough for them to postpone the fireworks until the next day.
4. The Exit. Plan to leave as late as possible. The park is open late, so stay around. The parking lot will be jammed packed. If you have a choice to wander the park or sit in gridlock which would you choose? So enjoy the park. If you need to leave early I recommend you watch the fireworks from your car so you can leave right away. If you can plan on staying at a hotel/motel in the area if your drive is over an hour. I've been out of the parking lot around 1:30am before due to large crowds. Not saying this is a problem, but plan for it. If you have work the next morning, better plan for it.
Have a happy and safe fourth of July.
